Adelaide trainer Daniel Clarken says that he is no longer a battling trainer as he prepares his undefeated stable star Miracles Of Life for her comeback run in the Group 3 $150,000 H.D.F. McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield today.

Miracles Of Life certainly was a miracle of life for Clarken who produced the Not A Single Doubt filly with little known Adelaide jockey Lauren Stojakovic to score a resounding win in the Group 1 $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield in February.

“Instead of battling, I’m enjoying myself,” Clarken told the Herald Sun.

Clarken has stuck with Stojakovic who has been aboard Miracles Of Life in all her four wins and says that the partnership won’t be broken up.

“What more can she do?” Clarken said

“If I took her off, I reckon Australia would be in uproar and I really didn’t want to have to put up with her old man.”

Clarken was happy with the way the filly travelled over from Adelaide to Melbourne and is ready to kick off her Spring campaign that could end up with a start in the Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 16.

“She’s not really turned a hair. She ate and drank and had a big sleep and I’m happy,” Clarken said.

Clarken is excited about being part of the Melbourne Spring Carnival and has no regrets that he elected to miss the Group 1 $3.5m Tooheys New Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill in April.

“If we’d run in the Slipper, we probably wouldn’t be seeing her at this time of year now,” Clarken said.

“It would have taken her a long time to get over it, so I think it will be a big pay-off for us.”

Miracles Of Life is a $2.20 favourite to keep her unbeaten record intact in the McNeil, ahead of Caulfield Guineas hopefuls Prince Harada and Fast ‘N’ Rocking at $4.20.

The only other runner under double figures in the seven horse field is the Peter Moody trained $7.50 chance Thermal Current with the blinkers on for the first time.
