Trainer Peter Snowden is hoping to put an end to 3-year-old colt Peck's losing streak

Peter Snowden is hoping to put an end to his three-year-old colt Peck’s losing streak when he runs him at Rosehill tomorrow.

Despite Snowden having a high opinion of Peck, the young colt has only won two low-class races and does not have enough prize money to make it into desired stakes quality fields.

“He’s got no prize money and he’s got no rating,” Snowden said with frustration.

Snowden is hoping that a win tomorrow could be the first step towards making it into the bigger races later in the year.

“If we’re looking to go to better races he’s got to do something,” he said.

“He needs to win a couple of races to get his rating up.”

The trainer brought Peck to Brisbane in the hope of gaining a Queensland Derby start last month, but the horses failed to make the field.

“He has had a mucked up preparation and things haven’t gone his way,” Snowden said.

Peck will run in the That’s Fishy Handicap in Sydney tomorrow, with his trainer confident he is in peak form for the race.

“His work has been good and he’s in good order,” Snowden said.

“He has got talent but he’s just very new and doesn’t know how to race properly yet.

“The only way to teach them is to race them.”
