The Toff Is Back In Business In Time For Spring

Toorak Toff will hope to return to form in the Bobbie Lewis Quality

Trainer Rick Hore-Lacy is adamant that Toorak Toff will show talent reminiscent of his early career when he runs in tomorrow’s Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington.

Toorak Toff was forced to undergo an operation in an attempt to cure a throat problem that caused him to “roar”.

The four-year-old is no noise-free and is slowly making his way back to the form that saw him win last year’s $1 million Golden Rose.

“If he runs as good as he looks he will go pretty well,” Hore-Lacy said.

“He looks absolutely superb and I have never had him going better.”

Toorak Toff has had just one run since his surgery when he finished 17th in The Goodwood back in May.

“He got too far back and nothing really made ground all day,” Hore-Lacy said.

The trainer is now looking towards tomorrow’s race and remains hopeful that Toorak Toff can begin his spring campaign with a bang.

“He has done enough work to win if he is good enough,” he said.

Toorak Toff, who was purchased at the 2009 Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $135,000, has won five of his 12 race starts and has earned more than $1 million in prize money.
