Outsider Sizzleme has to regain her handy Spring form if she is to be competitive in the Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville on Saturday.

Sizzleme mixed it with the top staying fillies during the 2018 Melbourne Spring Carnival with a third in the Group 3 $150,000 Ethereal Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield, a fourth in the Group 2 $300,000 Mumm Wakeful Stakes (2000m) at Flemington before running sixth to Aristia in the Group 1 $1m Kennedy Oaks (2500m) at Flemington.

Trainer Cindy Anderson said that Sizzleme was finding her old form this campaign with placings at her last two runs at Morphettville with a second over 1600m in a three year old Plate on March 23 followed by a third in the Group 3 $120,000 Schweppervescence Stakes (1800m) on April 13.

“She’s improved since her last start and we’re pretty hopeful she can run a nice race,” Anderson told racing.com.

“She’s going as well as I can have her, now it just comes down to her ability and luck in running.

“It’s a stronger race than the last one (Auraria Stakes) and I think it’s probably a bit deeper than the Oaks in the spring so she’ll need to run as good as she ever has.”

Anderson has put the blinkers back on Sizzleme who could move into barrier eleven if all of the emergencies fail to get a starts.

The David Brideoake trained Princess Jenni sits at the top of the market order at $3.10 ahead of Team Hawkes’ Amangiri at $5 and Kennedy Oaks winner Aristia at $7.
