Promising filly Primeiro will have to wait for another day to make her city debut after being scratched from Group 3 $150,000 The Vanity (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday.

Trained Greg Eurell was keen to test Primeiro against the better performed fillies but was forced to scratch the Reset filly after her blood report wasn’t one hundred per cent.
“Her blood came back and it’s not right, which is a real shame,” Eurell told Racing Network.
“I really wanted to run this filly because she was ready and it would have told us a lot about where she fits in at this level.”
“Can’t be helped and it’s not major, but she has to come out.”
Primeiro created a big impression at her first race start when she came from near the tail of the field to score a one length win in a 1205m Sale Maiden on February 8.
Even though Primeiro was ranked as one of the outsiders of the field at $26, Eurell was looking forward to seeing her line up against some well performed fillies such as Crown Oaks winner Set Square, the undefeated Wawail and Fenway who ran third in the Group 2 $300,000 Racing.com Wakeful Stakes (2000m) at Flemington during the 2014 Melbourne Spring Carnival.
The David Hayes and Tom Dabernig trained Wawail has won all her four race starts to date and has been listed the $2.30 favourite for The Vanity with Ladbrokes.com.au to keep her unbeaten record intact.
Maastricht from the Hawkes Racing Stable is on the second line of betting at $4.80 ahead of Fenway at $7, Set Square at $7.50 and Clover Lane at $9.50.
Jockey Michael Walker has ridden Wawail to three of her four wins and believes the Lonhro filly has the potential to reach Group 1 grade.
“I think she has Group 1 potential,” Walker said.
“I’m really looking forward to Saturday to see where she where she is in the pecking order.”
“It’s a decent race.
“I know I’m riding a filly I believe that has not yet reached anywhere near her potential.”
The Ciaron Maher trained Set Square has already shown her class and is having her first run back since winning the Group 1 $1m Crown Oaks (2500m) at Flemington during the 2014 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
