2013 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Miracles Of Life has been sold to Kentucky-based Stud farm Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings for $900,000 on the opening day of the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast, but is set to race on in Australia under the care of Team Snowden.
Miracles Of Life was sold as part of the Teeley Asset Dispersal Sale and bidding on the talented filly opened at $200,000 and quickly progressed to $900,000 when bidding stalled and she was sold into the care of Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings.
Stonestreet Thoroughbred is a stud farm based in Kentucky that is well known for producing the talented Curlin, rated the richest racehorse in North America after accumulating $10,501,800 in total prizemoney and Rachel Alexandra who took out the 2009 edition of the Preakness Stakes.
Stonestreet is rated one of the leading commercial breeding operators in North America, finishing 2010 as the leading breeder of yearlings in the United States Of America, and have a share in a number of popular stallions as well as almost 100 well-bred broodmares.
Miracles Of Life was expected to be retired to begin a career as a broodmare, but Sky Racing’s Andrew Bensley has revealed that the popular filly will race on for her new owners and will join the stable of Peter and Paul Snowden.
“Miracles of Life will continue to race on. Bought by Stonestreet Farm in America but will stay here to be trained by Peter Snowden,” Bensley posted on Twitter.
“The training combination of Peter and Paul Snowden can’t wait to get the qualities of Miracles of Life into their Randwick barn.”
Miracles Of Life wasn’t the only Teeley-owned horse that went for a big price on the opening day of the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale; with the Muzaffar Yaseen-owned operation raking in over $23 million over the 57 fillies and broodmares that went under the hammer.
Proven broodmares Lorraine, Quench The Thirst and Rex Is A Star all sold for over $1 million, while Taste Of Heaven, a half-sister to Redoute’s Choice, was sold to another American stud Hill ‘n’ Dale farm for $1.5 million, who also picked up a full sister to Rubick in Drifting Cube for $1.1 million.
Estelle Collection, who is in foal to a full-brother to champion sprinter Lankan Rupee, was sold to Coolmore for $1.4 million and they also picked up Redoute’s Choice’s full sister Monsoon Wedding for $2.2 million.
The Gold Coast Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale will continue until Sunday.
