The successful team of jockey Kerrin McEvoy and trainer Peter Snowden are set to reunite when smart two year old I’m Not Sure steps out in the $85,000 Hyland Race Colours Plate (1100m) at Randwick on Saturday.

McEvoy and Snowden formed a strong combination when they were Darley’s retained jockey and trainer with multiple Group 1 wins including Gold Slippers and Caulfield Guineas before Snowden decided to leave and take up training with his son Paul half way through 2014.
And when the Darley operation was rebranded Goldolphin shortly after McEvoy also decided to go his own way.
Now the winning combination team up occasionally when the pieces fall into place and that will happen on Saturday at Randwick with the well bred Choisir colt I’m Not Sure.
“It’s nice to get the call-up for a few of the horses they’re keen to get me on. This horse I’d ridden in his trial, I seemed to get along well with him, and Peter picked up on that. Hopefully we can reward him Saturday,’’ McEvoy told The Daily Telegraph.
McEvoy has already had a feel of I’m Not Sure with the pair combining for aa second to Gai Waterhouse trained Giulietta in an 1100m Rosehill two year old on January 3.
The multiple Group 1 winning jockey expects a sharp improvement with that run under his belt and is looking forward to a good performance.
“He trialled nicely heading into his first run, and he got absolutely smashed at the start of that race at Rosehill,’’ McEvoy said.
“That had him on the back foot, but he regained his spot, travelled well and hit the line nicely.
“You’d like to think there’s natural improvement that will see him run really well on the weekend.
“His work on Tuesday morning showed he’s come on that bit more. He’s a nice individual, he won’t just be a speed horse, but he might stretch out in distance later on.’’
I’m Not Sure will be coming up against some well bred first starters including Gigolo from the powerful Chris Waller stable and Holler from the Godolphin stable.
Gigolo, a colt by Bernardini, ran second in a 900m Rosehill trial on January 6 while Commands colt Holler also was runner up in a 900m ion the same day.
