Tattersall’s Club Tiara favourite Azkadellia has drawn barrier eleven out of sixteen in the Group 1 for the fillies and mares at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

But trainer Ciaron Maher is unconcerned with the wide gate and said prior to the barrier draw that it wouldn’t affect Azkadellia’s chances in the $500,000 1400m Group 1 no matter if she drew close to the rails out wide on the track.
“It doesn’t really matter as long as where the track is racing best she makes a path towards there because she generally gets back in her races and you can basically come wherever you need to,” Maher said.
“Barriers are no real concerns, she will probably end up in the same position anyway.”
Azkadellia, with Nick Hall replacing Damien Oliver, has retained her place at the top of the market order for the Tattersall’s Club Tiara at $2.40 with Ladbrokes.com.au.
Azkadellia gets her chance to repay the punters who sent her out as the $4 favourite when tenth to Under The Louvre in the Group 1 $1.5m AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 11.
The in-form Danish Twist with Hugh Bowman in the saddle, is on the second line of betting at $6.50 and has drawn the rails while Precious Gem has also drawn well at gate four and is listed at $7.50 with Blake Shinn to ride.
The David Pfieffer trained Cradle Me settled midfield when she won the Group 2 $200,000 Bundaberg Rum Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 11 and Hong Kong based jockey Zac Purton will be looking to take up a similar position from barrier thirteen.
Cradle Me is the only other runner under double figure odds at $8.
Tegan Harrison on the Gai Waterhouse trained Echo Gal could find herself in front from barrier three after sitting just off the leader when third to Blueberry Hill in the Listed $100,000 Sky Racing Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at Ipswich last Saturday.
Echo Gal is listed as a $41 chance while Blueberry Hill, barrier eight with Jim Byrne, is marked at $26.
The Darren Weir trained Scarlet Billows is another mare backing up after finishing fourth, just behind Echo Gal in the Gai Waterhouse Classic and the $19 chance will jump from barrier ten with Jack Hill to ride.
