Yet to finish worse than second over an impressive six start career, talented Western Australian three-year-old Disposition has been confirmed to transfer to the stables of east coast trainer Wez Hunter for the 2015 Autumn Carnival and will bet set for an appearance in the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) on March 7th.
A proven performer amongst three-year-old fields and open company, Disposition has not been seen at the races since finishing an agonizingly-close second to renowned stayer Moriarty in the featured Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot on December 6th.
Thrilled to have been offered the chance to saddle the impressive three-year-old, Hunter told TVN the Australian Guineas figures as the perfect target for the Reset gelding during his maiden east coast preparation, with an appearance in the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) one week later to figure if successful.
“He was strong to the line over 1800 metres in the Kingston Town,” Hunter said.
“He’s an exciting horse. He was second in the Guineas over there and then beaten a lip by Moriarty.
“It’s pretty good form, he looks like he’s got plenty more to offer. He seems the perfect horse, he handles firm tracks, he races on speed and he’s a legitimate Group 1 horse.”
Debuting with back-to-back victories in the Provident Financial Services Maiden (1000m) and Westspeed 3.y.o (1000m) in September and early October, Disposition completed a successful transition to black type racing when claiming honours in each of the Listed Belgravia Stakes (1200m) and Listed Fairetha Stakes (1400m); finishing second to Rommel in the Group 2 W.A. Guineas (1600m) in what was his only other start prior to the Kingston Town Classic.
Returning to the paddock following the Kingston Town Classic, Disposition has been confirmed to complete a Mornington barrier trial in early February before a likely return to competition in the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on February 21st.
Tragically passing away after suffering a heart attack during her flight from Perth to Melbourne late last week, Hunter was also set to saddle talented Group 1-winning mare and fellow Bob Peters-owned Elite Belle for the 2015 Autumn Carnival.
