Gympie Racecourse is a boutique racing facility only a couple of hours drive north of Brisbane City.
It’s the second track north of the main Doomben and Eagle Farm facilities with the Sunshine Coast circuit at Caloundra separating the two.
The course is operated and maintained by the Gympie Turf Club who are dedicated in their efforts to keep the track in pristine order fit for racing.
Gympie Racecourse isn’t one of the bigger tracks you’ll find in Australia with its tight turns and short straight favouring horses with a good burst of speed.
It caters for starts from the 850m, 1000m, 1150m, 1465m and 1800m.
Some of the feature events to be held at Gympie Racecourse include St Pats Raceday in March, the 100 Club Cup in April, the RSL Club Cup in June and the Muster Cup in August.
Gympie Racecourse caters for patrons with a range of on course facilities covering all the necessities like food outlets, bars and on track bookies.
You can even get into the average race day for less than ten bucks!
