Trainer Chris Waller still has two nominations in the Group 2 $250,000 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday even with the absence of the stable’s super star mare Winx.

The Waller trained Comin’ Through and Endless Drama are among the fourteen Apollo Stakes nominations that have been extended to 11am on Tuesday February 13, 2018.

Winx was scheduled to return to the race track in the Apollo Stakes but will now kick off her 2018 Autumn Carnival campaign in the Group 1 $600,000 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on March 3 when regular rider Hugh Bowman will be back from a careless riding suspension.

Even though Winx won’t go around in the Apollo Strakes, she will still be in action at Randwick on Saturday when she gallops in between races with her stablemates Who Shot The Barman, Libran, Mackintosh and McCreery.

Comin’ Through will be having his first run back since finishing fifteenth to Tosen Stardom in the Group 1 $500,000 United Petroleum Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield during the 2017 Melbourne Spring Carnival while Irish import Endless Drama was given a run on January 27 for a third to Lanciato in the Listed $150,000 Carrington Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott training partnership has three nominations for the Apollo Stakes, Global Glamour, Siege Of Quebec and Stampede.

Dual Group 1 winner Global Glamour has already raced twice this campaign for a sixth to Invincibella in the $1m Magic Millions Fillies and Mares (1300m) at the Gold Coast on January 13 and a fourth to Trapeze Artist in the Group 2 $200,000 Sydney Markets Limited Expressway Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on February 3.

Stampede will be resuming for his first outing since finishing third to Harlem in the Group 3 $150,000 Naturalism Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield on September 23 and if Waterhouse and Bott decide to run Siege Of Quebec, the Fastnet Rock colt was have to back up in the week after running a brave second to Kementrai in the Group 3 $150,000 Aquis Farm Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm last Saturday.

The in-form Mark Newnham trained Lanciato is also among the nominations for the Apollo Stakes and will be taking another step up in grade after winning a 1400m BenchMark 94 Handicap at Randwick on January 6 followed by a win at Rosehill in the Carrington Stakes.
