Max Dynamite remains steady at 2015 Melbourne Cup odds of $13 and connections are happy with the condition of the talented stayer ahead of the Group 1 event at Flemington tomorrow.

Max Dynamite started his racing career in France at the end of 2012 and he was competitive in races like the Group 1 Prix Du Jockey Club (2100m) at Chantilly and the Group 1 Grand Prix De Paris (2400m) before he was purchased by the Willie Mullins stable and transformed into a hurdler.
The Great Journey gelding performed consistently over the jumps, but he was given another opportunity in flat races and he finished a close second behind Quest For More in the Northumberland Plate (3236m) at Newcastle on June 27 before he recorded a dominant victory in the Group 2 Lonsdale Cup (3299m) at York on August 21.
Assistant trainer David Casey said that the entire stable have been thrilled with the 2015 Melbourne Cup lead-up form of Max Dynamite and he is confident that the talented stayer is ready to run a big race tomorrow afternoon.
“We buy a lot of horses with good flat form to go over jumps and be possible dual purpose horses and Max was no different when we brought him,” Casey said.
“He proved very adaptable over hurdles and he got to a very high level, but then we decided to mix it up with him and he ran very well in the Northumberland Plate for second and we decided then to go to the Lonsdale Cup for him in York and he won very impressively.
“He did more than impress us, he won very easily and put a great distance between him and the rest of the field.
“If we can replicate that run on Tuesday, he will run very well.”
Max Dynamite arrived in Australia on the eve of the Melbourne Cup and Casey said that the six-year-old quickly settled in to his new surroundings at the Werribee International Equine Centre.
The Mullins stable resisted the urge to give Max Dynamite a lead-up run in Australia before the 2015 Melbourne Cup, but Casey remains confident that the Lonsdale Cup winner could not be any fitter ahead of ‘the race that stops a nation’.
“He has been very good and he settled in very well,” Casey said.
“He is a very horse to deal with and he is very relaxed.
“We have been building him up since and his work has been improving, which is what we want.
“We are happy with the horse, he seems in good form and he has been doing everything that we asked him.
“Hopefully he will run his race.
“You can’t be confident with 24 runners and you need a lot of luck in running, but if you get a bit of that I think he will run very well.”
