Our growing internet advertising business, based in Chermside (Brisbane Northside) requires a content writer to join our young and energetic team.

We own and operate HorseRacing.com.au and we are looking for more writers to join our team and expand our content and race coverage as we quickly approach the Spring Carnival.

We are seeking a responsible, reliable and autonomous employee who has the knowledge required to cover weekly racing events from preview to results. This position would suit a university graduate with a desire to learn more about internet business. You will be responsible for maintaining your own “day to day” workload while meeting daily writing goals.

This role is offered as a full-time Monday to Friday position, however due to the major race days falling on Saturday’s we look favourably on applications that can work 5 day weeks including Saturday (eg. Tue – Sat) during major racing periods. If that appeals to you please let us know when you apply.

This position is office based; we are not looking for freelance writers to work from home. Our office has been newly refurbished and is situated directly across from Westfield Chermside shopping centre.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write news coverage of upcoming and past horse racing events.
  • Write about odds, tips and horse form.
  • Create content about horse racing, race tracks, jockeys, trainers, sports and racing.
  • Learn more about sports betting including horse racing, greyhound racing and trots.

Skills Required

  • Strong writing ability
  • Knowledge of horse racing industry and terminology
  • Knowledge of betting types and terminology
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly
  • A strong work ethic and a positive attitude

Favourable Skills

  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Tertiary qualifications
