In-form galloper Freereturn will look to continue his winning streak when he runs in the Betfair Handicap at Sandown tomorrow.
The five-year-old gelding has won five of his past seven race starts and has not finished outside the placings once during his current campaign.
The only time Freereturn has not won in the past five starts was when he was galloped on a Sandown on September 14.
“He came off the back of a freshen up that we were forced to give the horse after he got galloped on at Sandown,” trainer Jason Warren said.
“It wasn’t too bad, just had a flap of skin on the hind leg.”
Warren is hopeful tomorrow’s race conditions will suit the Rubiton gelding.
“With Jungle Ruler in there you always know the race is going to be genuinely run,” Warren said.
“The trip won’t be a problem and I think he’s still got enough sprint in his legs to be competitive.”
“He’s a very genuine horse.
“It was nice (when winning last start), (Ben) Melham got off the horse and said he didn’t have to use the stick at all.”
Warren acquired the horse from Michael Moroney’s stables earlier in the year.
“We sort of train out of town…and the owners felt it would be nice to take the horse out of the city,” he explained.
“He’s had seven starts for me for five wins.”
Freereturn has won five of his 12 career runs and earned more than $73,000 in prize money.
