A long term plan to race Blademeister in Singapore in twelve months was one option that trainer Peter Snowden will consider after the Bernardini colt won the second leg of a winning two year old double for the Snowden stable on the Kensington track at Randwick last Saturday.

Blademeister, the equal $3.50 favourite with the Gary Portelli trained Testashadow in the Theraces.com.au Handicap, was having his third race start and the step up to 1550m and the pace of the race suited him perfectly as Joshua Parr brought him from last on the home turn to overpower Testashadoww in the run to the line.
Snowden, who trains in partnership with his son Paul, said that Singapore owner Dr K C Tan would love to see Blademeister race in Singapore on Singapore Derby Day next year in one of the feature races.
“Blademeister is owned by Singapore interests and this horse is perfect for an 1800m race at the Derby meeting over there,’’ Peter Snowden told The Sunday Telegraph.
“The owners want me to take him over there for that race which is in July next year.
“There is a lot of water to flow under the bridge now but I would love to take this horse over to Singapore.
“I could give him two runs at the end of our autumn carnival and then two runs into Singapore.’’
Snowden will give Blademesiter a short break now and prepare him for some suitable race at the end of the Melbourne Spring Carnival before putting him away for the Autumn.
“I’m more inclined to give him a breather and then look at a couple of races in Melbourne during the spring.
“There’s the Carbine Club Stakes and also an 1800m race for him on Oaks Day.
The Group 3 $250,000 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) for three year olds is run at Flemington on November 1 while the Listed $150,000 Connoisseur Stakes (1800m), also for the three year olds, is also run at Flemington on Crown Oaks Day.
Blademeister’s win was the second leg of a winning double for the Snowdens after Parr scored a comfortable win on Inkling in the other two year old race on the card, the TAB Early Quaddie Handicap (1150m).
Inkling was sent out the $1.65 favourite and kept the punters happy with a one and quarter lengths win over the Gary Frazer trained Sheer Style.
