The 2019 Millie Fox Stakes is a Group 2 race that takes place at Rosehill racecourse in late February or early March each year.
Run over a distance of 1,300 metres, the Millie Fox Stakes is run as part of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. The Millie Fox Stakes, which is open to fillies and mares only, is run under quality handicap conditions and is worth $175,000 in prize money.
The Millie Fox Stakes was first run in 1996 when it was won by Chlorophyll. The race is often contested by those fillies and mares that have run well in the Group 2 Breeders Classic, which takes place at Warwick Farm in February.
Many trainers use the Millie Fox Stakes as a trial for the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Classic later in the carnival.
The Millie Fox Stakes is run on Silver Slipper Day in Sydney and shares its day with the Group 2 Silver Slipper, Group 2 Hobartville Stakes, Listed Fireball Quality Handicap and Listed Parramatta Cup.
Notable winners of the Millie Fox Stakes include Red Tracer (2012, 2013, 2014), Nanny Maroon (2001), Tivoli Dancer (2005) and Montana Flyer (2010 and 2011).
