Savatiano was well supported in the ring today to be sent out as the $2.05 favourite and has firmed in the Coolmore Classic betting from $19 – $10 at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Her James Cummings trained stablemate Flit sits at the top of the market order at $5 for the Group 1 $600,000 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill on March 14.

Tommy Berry set the pace on the Bjorn Baker trained Irithea ($7) with the flashy grey mare White Moss ($4.80) sitting on her rump while James McDonald was getting the perfect trail on Savatiano behind the leaders.

McDonald followed White Moss into the straight and then eased over the grey’s heels at the 300m and went on to record a two and three a quarter lengths win.

White Moss held on for second with Invincible Gem ($6.50) sneaking into third spot.

Savatiano was having her first run back from a spell today after winning the $1m Pages Event Hire Hunter (1300m) at Newcastle on November 16 last year and has now taken her prizemoney total to just over $1.5 million for nine wins from twenty-eight starts.
