146 two-year-olds have been nominated for a run in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast next month.

Leading Queensland two-year-old Snipzu is amongst the juveniles attempting to secure a slice of the $2 million prize money on offer.

Snipzu demonstrated her talent on debut, when finishing second to Hussona in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes at Randwick on October 1.

The two-year-old then went on to win both the Qantac Blackwater 2YO Handicap and the BCD Technologies Handicap at Eagle Farm.

The Snippetson filly was purchased at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $80,000 and has already earned close to $85,000 in prize money.

Snipzu will be joined in the Magic Millions by emerging star two-year-old Sizzling.

Sizzling won his only career start while on debut at Eagle Farm on November 12, beating his closest competitor by six lengths.

The Snitzel colt was a more costly purchase at the Gold Coast sales, being sold for a total of $260,000.

Sizzling is syndicated amongst seven owners and is trained at Eagle Farm by Kelso Wood.

Also included in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic nominations is Clarry Conners’ filly Diamond Start.

While she is yet to break her maiden, Diamond Start has finished second in both her previous starts and has earned more than $26,000 in prize money.

The Lonhro filly was purchased by Hong Kong connections in January this year for the bargain basement price of $50,000.

Trainer David Hayes has also decided to pursue a Magic Millions start with his two-year-old colt Henia.

Henia finished third in the Laura Butcher Memorial Plate at Caulfield last weekend.

“He’s in the Magic Millions but he’s got to be running well this Saturday to go for it,” Hayes said before Henia’s last start.

“He has trialled well though and I quite like him.

“If he won he would be my number one for it (the Magic Millions).”

While he did not win, the result proved the Henny Hughes colt is up for the challenge.
