Levendi scored his most important win with a nose victory in the Group 1 $2m Harrolds Australian Derby (2400m) at Randwick during the 2018 Sydney Autumn Carnival and was on the comeback trail after undergoing surgery to remove bone chips from his knees.

The Peter Gelagotis trained Levendi was lining up for his second barrier trial this campaign over 807m at Warwick Farm this morning but after leaving the starting gates awkwardly, jockey Brenton Avdulla pulled the Pierro four year old out of the contest.

Team Gelagotis tweeted this morning confirming that Levendi had a fractured pelvis and was out of the Autumn Carnival.

“Upon an early Vet inspection it appears Levendi has suffered a pelvic fracture to the offside hind. Unfortunately he will miss the ATC Carnival & his future will be decided in the coming months upon medical advice from our entire Veterinary Team . The horse is in good care,” Team Gelagotis tweeted.

Levendi is the winner of five of his ten races starts with prizemoney earnings of $1,653,950.
