In Her Time has led from the start to finish to record a dominant win in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill Gardens.
The Millie Fox Stakes was delayed for forty minutes as inclement weather buffeted the Rosehill circuit and In Her Time appeared to be making up for lost time when she flew the barriers and immediately took up the running.
Experiencing a carefree run in transit on pace with the likes of I Am Zelady and Daysee Doom in hot pursuit, the Time Thief mare kicked clear when she arrived in the final straight and never appeared in doubt; finding the line three lengths ahead of Euro Angel and a brave Daysee Doom.
Trainer Ben Smith was understandably pleased with In Her Time’s performance to win the Millie Fox Stakes, but said that he is yet to decide on whether or not she will progress to the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) on March 11th.
“She’s very good and she keeps improving and I think she’ll get even better than this as well,” Smith said.
“The way the race panned out, Josh was able to get to the front.
“She’s been perfect since her last run and continues to hold her weight well and just loves racing.
“I think she’s a better sprinter, but the way she raced today might cause us to reassess.
“There are plenty of options available for her and we can even give her a little let-up, which we’ll probably do.”
Euro Angel is primed for a big Autumn Carnival preparation after working to the line well to finish second, in what was her first-up run this campaign.
Daysee Doom is sure to take plenty of benefit from her third-place finish, having also contested the Millie Fox Stakes second-up.
