The Rosehill track has been rated a Heavy 8 for the 2019 Golden Slipper Race Day today which will see the mighty mare Winx chase her thirty-second consecutive win and her a fourth straight victory in the Group 1 $1m The Agency George Ryder Stakes (1500m).

The Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) for the two year olds is one of five Group 1 races on the nine event Rosehill card and as well as the George Ryder Stakes, patrons will get to see the Group 1 $600,000 Sky Racing Rosehill Guineas (2000m) for the three year olds, the Group 1 $700,000 OOH!Media Galaxy (1100m) for the open class sprinters and the Group 1 $700,000 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) for the weight for age middle distance performers.

The heavy track rating won’t have any effect on the chances of Winx extending her unbeaten record with the Chris Waller trained super star having won multiple races on every sort of rain affected surface.

Waller is certainly not worried about the wet track said that Winx heads to Rosehill in first class order following her two Sydney Autumn Carnival wins at Randwick in the Group 2 $250,000 The Star Apollo Stakes (1400m) on February 16 and in the Group 1 $600,000 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) on March 2.

“She has done everything right over the past three weeks leading into this race, obviously she is in great form and she continues to enjoy her work and she would be what I would call a very happy horse,” Waller said in his Golden Slipper Race Day preview.

“The beauty of training Winx is that she is effective in all track conditions and we are certainly unsure of how the track will dry out ahead of Saturday’s race bit it could well stay in the heavy range.”

“Fortunately for her it should not affect her chances and we will just leave the riding up to Hugh who does a wonderful job and is a big part of the team, as are our staff at home who do a wonderful job of maintaining her and keeping her as a happy horse.”

Regular rider Hugh Bowman will again be aboard Winx who will jump from gate seven in the eight horse George Ryder Stakes field.

Winx continues to dominate the betting for the George Ryder Stakes and is the $1.07 favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au with the Team Snowden trained Land Of Plenty the closest to her in the market order at $19.
