Coolmore Classic plans are looming for Enquare who will line up close to favourite in the Gold Coast $1m Magic Millions 3yo Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Sunshine Coast trainer Jason McLachlan is full of confidence heading to the Gold Coast with Enquare and can’t see any reason why the filly won’t rack up her fifth win in a row.
McLachlan is shaping up to win back to back Magic Millions 3yo Guineas after Saluter collected the trophy last year and has already started planning a Sydney Autumn Carnival campaign for Equare.
“She’ll have a break after this race and she will be going to Sydney,” McLachlan told the Sportsman.
“She’s very smart, I think she is a real topliner and better than the average Brisbane horse.”
“If she runs as well as I think she will then she will be very hard to beat.”
All going well McLachlan will head south in the Autumn with the Group 1 $600,000 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill on March 22 one of the main targets.
Enquare has won all her three starts this preparation but McLachlan is looking back to her win over the Guineas distance of 1400m at her last start before her winter break when she took out the Listed $100,000 Breakfast Creek Hotel Stakes at Eagle Farm on June 22.
“She has had one go at 1400m and sat three deep all the way and still won a Listed race so I can’t wait for the 1400m,” McLachlan said.
“I always thought the best way to ride her was quiet but we’ve drawn wide several times and have had to go forward.”
“I wouldn’t think she will be back too far though, just where she is comfortable and she will really reel some sectionals off coming home.”
Enquare rounded off her Magic Millions 3yo Guineas preparation with a solid win in the Group 3 $150,000 Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) at Doomben on December 28 and has drawn perfectly at barrier two with Jim Byrne to ride.
With the scratching of third favourite Charlie Boy because of a hamstring injury, Enquare and the Gai Waterhouse trained Sweet Idea share the top spot in the market order at $4.60 with Waterhouse’s second runner Northern Glory now a $9 chance ahead of Peter Moody’s Weinholt at $11.
