Cirrus Des Aigles will jump from barrier 2 in the Hong Kong Cup on Sunday

A winner of 4 of his last 5 starts all at Group level, French galloper Cirrus Des Aigles is on target for the (US $2.6 million) Group 1 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup on Sunday.

Trainer Corine Barande-Barbe said her charge came to the Sha Tin track on Thursday morning fresh off the Cathay Pacific Paris flight and was reassured by what she saw as her gelding cantered on the All Weather track with regular morning rider Zoe Gargoulaud up.

“Cirrus looks great. He’s full of life and seems to be enjoying his trip”.

Regarding the barrier draw Barande-Barbe said “I asked her co-owner Jean-Claude Dupouy to draw himself because he’s a lucky man. We have a much better start here as there are only ten runners and we got a good draw with the stall number 2.”

At his last outing Cirrus Des Aigles defeated So You Think in the Group 1 Champion Stakes and Christophe Soumillon has retained the ride.
