Godolphin‘s star colt Broadsiding is heavily favoured to add another Group 1 victory to his record in the 2025 Randwick Guineas this Saturday in Sydney.

The three-year-old son of Too Darn Hot has already established himself as a top-tier talent, boasting three previous elite-level wins.

Broadsiding’s autumn campaign began with a dominant victory in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes, a race that historically serves as a key lead-up to the Randwick Guineas.

Celestial Legend’s double victory last year has solidified this form line, and punters are backing Broadsiding to follow suit.

His proven ability over 1600m, evidenced by his wins in the Champagne Stakes and J.J. Atkins as a juvenile, further strengthens his claims.

“The bulk of the money in Randwick Guineas betting at Ladbrokes this season looks to be on Broadsiding to be the next with the step-up to a mile to suit,” a racing analyst at Races.com.au reported.

Broadsiding’s impressive record also includes a Golden Rose victory and commendable performances in the Caulfield Guineas and Cox Plate last spring.

With James McDonald back in the saddle and a good barrier draw, he is a dominant $1.60 top elect in Randwick Guineas betting at Ladbrokes.

“Star hoop James McDonald comes back aboard replacing Zac Lloyd and that only improves this star in the making’s credentials from a gun gate four draw in a small Randwick Guineas field of nine,” a racing expert noted.

James Cummings, Broadsiding’s trainer, has a strong history in the race, having previously won with Hallowed Crown and Kementari.

Swiftfalcon, trained by Team Hawkes, is the second favourite in Randwick Guineas betting online at $4.40.

The Exceedance gelding, who finished second to Broadsiding in the Hobartville Stakes, is expected to appreciate the step up to a mile.

Aeliana, trained by Chris Waller, is the sole filly in the race, priced at $6.50.

The daughter of Castelvecchio has shown consistent form, including a second-place finish in the Thousand Guineas back in the spring over this distance in Melbourne, and is expected to be competitive.

No filly has beaten home the boys in the Randwick Guineas since Mosheen back in 2012 and this year the sole filly looking to be the next is the Chris Waller trained Aeliana ($6.50).

Linebacker, trained by John O’Shea & Tom Charlton, is another contender at $9.50.

The Super Seth gelding, ridden by Zac Lloyd, is third-up and looking to improve on his sixth-place finish in the Hobartville Stakes.

The 2025 Randwick Guineas promises to be a compelling race, with Broadsiding looking to solidify his status as a top-class three-year-old in Randwick Race 7.
