Sydney’s premier trainer Chris Waller’s Everest duo Arcadia Queen and Enticing Star as are set to ramp up their Spring Carnival preparations when they go around in a Rosehill barrier trial next week.
“I am not going to over-race them, and will probably go into The Everest second-up, but they will be very well prepared, and both horses will have a trial next week and are well ahead of schedule,” Waller told Racenet.
Both Arcadia Queen and Enticing Star are former Western Australian trained gallopers and high profile Perth owner Bob Peters sent them over to Waller to prepare them for the 2019 Spring Carnival.
“I was fortunate enough to be given two horses from Bob Peters, from Western Australia, who he sent over from his farm in fantastic order, they are Enticing Star and Arcadia Queen,” Waller said.
“They both had a gallop this morning (Tuesday) and worked particularly well.”
“The standard Waller racing two-trial lead up will apply with a week to spare if required, that is the plan I like to follow.
“I will pick out a lead up race, trying to keep them apart and trying to have them in winning form going into The Everest and choosing jockeys a little bit closer to the time.
“Enticing Star is a little bit older than Arcadia Queen and she will either join up with our team to go to Melbourne or perhaps stay behind in Sydney and race in some of the new races. Arcadia Queen, obviously she will be a leading Golden Eagle horse.”
Both former Western Australian stars have cemented a slot in the $14m The Everest (1200m) at Randwick on October 19 with Enticing Star to run in the Chris Waller Racing slot while Arcadia Queens will run in the slot owned by The Star.
Enticing Star is the winner of eight of her ten race starts and hasn’t raced since finishing second to Voodoo Lad in the Group 1 $1m Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot during the 2018 – 2019 Perth Summer Carnival.
The lightly raced Arcadia Queen also has an outstanding record with five wins from six starts and she capped off her Perth Summer Carnival campaign with a win in the Group 1 $1m Magic Millions Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot.
