Bargain buy Dashitude looks a rags to riches story in the making after an impressive debut win in the Veolia 2YO (1000m) at Morphettville today.
Purchase at the 2011 Adelaide Magic Millions January Sale for just $5,500, the Dash For Cash – Royal Tango filly picked up $21,300 and more certainly looks install.
The bay was strongly backed from $21 to $11 but won likes on odds on certainty when leading and dashing away in emphatic style.
Dashitude on breeding should have cost more but being lot 276 in an Adelaide sale saw her go to virtually unknown trainer Chris Bieg for chips.
Dashitude is one of two horses Bieg trains, the other is Count Fedelmi who has been unplaced in eight starts.
Royal Tango won five races and is a half sister to Darwin Cup winner Ventilago and Eucollo.
She has also thrown city winner Zip Royale
The second dam Light Action won the Group 3 Adelaide Guineas and produced eight winners.
Jockey Amy Hermann led on Dashitude and cleared away to win easily.
Her time 58.52 was about a length and a half slower than the older horses later in the day, a good effort for a young first starter.
She is eligible for $2m Gold Coast Magic Millions Classic (1200m) on January 14.
