Tupac Brings Adams Back To Life

Josh Adams completed his return to racing yesterday claiming his first winner since coming back from a lengthy suspension.

Adams was suspended for five months after testing positive to drugs at the beginning of the year.

The suspension was originally due to be seven however stewards acknowledged the effort he had put in during his suspension which included counselling sessions.

Adams claimed his winner at Warwick Farm with Biggietupac getting up by more than a length over My Zabeel.

It’s the final hurdle he needed to overcome before his career hopefully gets back to where it was before his suspension.

Adams says he simply wouldn’t be in the position he is in today were it not for the incredible support given by fellow jockey Jim Cassidy.

Cassidy is a veteran of the game and essentially mentored Adams throughout his period on the sidelines.

“I went to Jimmy for advice and his thoughts on my situation, knowing everything he has gone through in his life,” Adams said.

“He has been up and down. He has gone from the bottom to the top in a year. He has gone from having time to winning Caulfield Cups and Melbourne Cups.

“I owe Jim and his wife Vicki and daughter Piper many thanks for their hospitality and help with everything.”
