Trainer Tony Vasil will attempt to execute a Moonee Valley onslaught when he lines up four of his gallopers this weekend.
Under The Eiffel, Under The Louvre, Elite Elle and De Fine Lago will all run as a part of Saturday’s Valley program.
Vasil will take the opportunity to finally reap the rewards of buying decisions he made years ago.
“I made a deliberate decision a couple of years ago that I needed to acquire some young horses but I didn’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars to go on a buying spree,” the trainer said.
“It is insane. You have to stick your neck out and buy and trust your judgment, and then hope that people buy into the horses and then that they are successful – it is the same for virtually all trainers.
“But things are going great. I have an older horse (Under The Eiffel) who is going great. He is up to win again on Saturday despite the 60kg. But it is the new crop that excites me.”
Under The Louvre will be having just his second race start for Vasil when he runs in the $80,000 Sportingbet Handicap over 1,000 metres at Moonee Valley this weekend.
After winning his maiden race by an impressive four lengths last start, Vasil is expecting big things from the two-year-old colt.
“I knew Under The Louvre was something out of the box when I rode him in trackwork even before he had a trial,” he said.
“He won his maiden at Swan Hill by four lengths pulling up and he will be a serious horse.”
Elite Elle will run in the $100,000 Aquanas Foods Handicap, while De Fine Lago will line up for the equally valued Dominant Handicap.
Finally, Under The Eiffel will take his place in the Alternate Railway Handicap over a mile in Race 6.
