Nathan Tinkler continues to dominate sporting headlines across all codes this week and horse racing is next on the list.
The billionaire mining tycoon spent another $1 million, this time on a broodmare at the Australian Easter Broodmare Sale.
Just a few days ago the Newcastle Knights Rugby League Club approved a multi-million dollar privatisation bid from Tinkler that see’s him become the sole owner of the club.
Just a day after that deal came through the announcement was made that Tinkler had then secured the prized signature of NRL super coach Wayne Bennet in another multi-million dollar contract.
This time though the investment has been made through Tinkler’s Patinack Farm Pty Ltd and boosted the stocks of an already bulging thoroughbred empire.
Allez Wonder is the horse in question, a five-year-old mare formerly trained by Bart Cummings and part owned by Dato Tan Chin Nam, one of the most famous combinations in the industry.
The career record of Allez Wonder saw her make 24 starts for three race victories including an upset win in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap.
Her last season was disappointing though, with her final run coming in the Emirates Stakes where she finished 14th of 16.
The overall figures put out by Inglis show that Patinack Farm has now purchased 17 broodmares worth more than $3.1 million.
