Tales Of Fashion had bookies cheering in Lancaster Stakes

The Trevor Bailey trained filly Tales Of Fashion had the bookies cheering as she sliced through to get the judge’s decision in the Listed $100,000 Gallopers Sports Club Lancaster Stakes(1200m) at Doomben today.

Tales Of Fashion was one of the outsiders of the field at $18 but proved too strong for Freezthemillions ($15) and Elitist ($31) in a blanket finish.

Winning jockey Blake Shinn was wrapped with the winning effort of Tales Of Fashion and expects the filly to continue to improve in the future.

“She has a beautiful action and she is only going to better as she develops and fills into her frame. Full credit to her and Trevor,” Shinn said.

Shinn also gave Bailey plenty of accolades for the way he presented Tales Of Fashion for her winning assignment today.

“He had her primed to win here today. Very well educated as you would have seen. Jumped and put herself in a beautiful position, took a needle eye gap at about the 250m and she just wanted to attack the line,” Shinn said.

“She is not very big but has got one big heart, it was a great victory.”

Tegan Harrison gave favourite Shinji ($3.20) a good run sitting outside the leader but the Falvelon filly faded in the straight to finish eighth.

Victorian filly Kalabek ($3.80) was a little slow to leave the gates again but was given a trouble free run by Nash Rawiller midfield but failed to handle the home turn and wobbled down the middle of the track to finish well back in eleventh spot.
