Ace High was incredibly tough in the Gloaming Stakes and he will go into the Spring Champion Stakes as a clear favourite, but this is an open race that is packed full of winning chances.
The Roman Consul Stakes and the Angst Stakes are the other Group races on the Spring Champion Stakes Day card and are set to be key form references for the Coolmore Stud Stakes and the Myer Classic, which are both held at Flemington on Victoria Derby Day.

Race 1 (12:30pm) – $100,000 BRMM Handicap Results

Goodfella held-off a flying Our Mantra to win the BRMM Handicap at Royal Randwick this morning.
Jason Collett was never able to slot in in the early stages of the BRMM Handicap and he was trapped three wide throughout, but he was still able to hit the front at the top of the straight.
Our Mantra stormed home down the outside and looked as though he would finish over the top of Goodfella, but he peaked on his run and Goodfella held-on to record a brave win.

Race 2 (1:10pm) – $100,000 IGA Liquor Handicap Results

Alward outstayed stablemates Up ‘N’ Rolling and Veladero to win the IGA Liquor Handicap at Royal Randwick this afternoon.
Veladero took up the running in the three horse race and at one stage opened up a big lead, but the field came together at the top of the straight.
All three horses were in for the fight for the majority of the straight, but Alward proved too strong late and he ran away from his stablemates in the final stages.

Race 3 (1:50pm) – $100,000 Adina Apartment Hotels Handicap Results

Interlocuter proved far too strong for his rivals in the Adina Apartment Hotels Handicap at Royal Randwick this afternoon.
Tye Angland looked as though he would be blocked for a run at the top of the straight, but he found clear running for Interlocuter and he showed a strong turn-foot when he found clear running.
Mapmaker and Hogmanay came at Interlocuter, but he was always in control of the race and he cruised to the line to record a very comfortable win.

Race 4 (2:250pm) – $600,000 Highway Handicap Results

Matthew Dunn continued his dominance in the Highway Handicap by training the trifecta in the race this afternoon.
Cascata Rossa went into the Highway Handicap as a clear favourite and he looked like the winner when he hit the front at the 200 metre mark, but Bronzed Venom found a gap at the 100 metre mark and he launched at his rival late.
Bronzed Venom got his nose in front of Cascata Rossa in the shadows of the post, while Dia De Reyes rounded out the Dunn trifecta in third.

Race 5 (3:00pm) – $100,000 Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap Results

Sir Plush led from start to finish to win the Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap at Royal Randwick this afternoon.
There was a massive amount of money for Sir Plush in the lead-up to the race and punters that took the short price never had any doubts that they had backed the winner.
Mighty Lucky, All Our Roads and Souchez all made up nice ground late, but Sir Plush never looked like losing.

Race 6 (3:35pm) – $300,000 Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes Results

Viridine justified a big betting move to maintain his unbeaten record in the 2017 Roman Consul Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.
The Roman Consul Stakes was a messy race and it did take Viridine a while to wind up, but once he found clear running he was far too good for his rivals.
Viridine has now recorded four wins from as many race starts and he now looks set to head to Melbourne for the Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Ace High led from start to finish to record an extremely tough victory in the 2017 Spring Champion Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.
Tye Angland took Ace High straight to the front in the early stages of the Gloaming Stakes a fortnight ago and he used the exact same tactics in the Spring Champion Stakes.
Tangled finished strongly and had his chance to finish over the top of Ace High, but the David Payne-trained proved impossible to get past and he held-on to record a maiden Group 1 win.

Race 8 (4:50pm) – $150,000 Group 3 Angst Stakes Results

Dixie Blossoms turn-the-tables on stablemate Daysee Doom to win the 2017 Angst Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.
Daysee Doom beat Dixie Blossoms to win the Golden Pendant last start, but it was Dixie Blossoms that proved too strong in the Angst Stakes.
Trainer Ron Quinton has his two mares in outstanding form and the Myer Classic looks like an ideal target for both horses.

Race 9 (5:30pm) – $100,000 Metropolitan Civil Contractors Handicap Results

It was a tough finish for punters at Royal Randwick this afternoon as Chalk recorded an upset win in the Metropolitan Civil Contractors Handicap.
Chalk only received a start in the race after there were a host of scratchings and jockey Brock Ryan took advantage of a rare opportunity in town to steer him to victory.
