So You Think is being primed to make his European debut in the Group 3 Mooresbridge Stakes in Ireland in May.
The talented four-year-old has not raced since being sold to Coolmore Stud after his third placing in the 2010 Melbourne Cup.
Aiden O’Brien, who now trains So You Think, has nominated the High Chaparral entire for his first start at The Curragh on Monday May 2, 2011.
O’Brien is full of praise for So You Think, who won eight of his 12 Australian race starts, including the Group 1 Cox Plate.
“He really is a fine horse,” O’Brien said.
“He’s some specimen and we’re all looking forward to getting him started.”
So You Think was exposed to his toughest trackwork on Sunday, where he effortlessly blitzed two of his stablemates over the 2,000 metres distance.
“That’s the most we’ve asked him to do so far and it’s the first time we’ve asked him to come through and join other horses,” O’Brien said.
O’Brien will put together a detailed campaign plan soon after So You Think competes in his first race.
“There are plenty of middle-distance races to choose from, but he certainly isn’t short of pace,” O’Brein said.
“We’ll get the first run out of the way before mapping out a campaign.”
