Snoopy stamped himself as a colt to follow when posting an impressive four length win in the Mangalore Park Maiden Plate (1209m) on debut in January before immediately returning to the paddock with a view towards the Spring Carnival.

Returning this time for a similarly impressive success in the Cove Hotel BM64 (1300m) on August 12th, the Lope De Vega continued to impress in taking out the Hygain BM70 (1400m) on August 27th, but failed to fire when a favourite and ninth in the Listed Pin & Win Stakes (1400m) on September 12th.

Responding well last time however, Snoopy warranted his berth in the Caulfield Guineas with a strong performance highlighted by an impressive final straight sprint in the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) last time.

Snoopy’s 2015 Caulfield Guineas odds firmed slightly following his most recent appearance, but have prompted drifted noticeably after his allocation of the somewhat wide and awkward barrier 11.

One of two for trainers David Hayes and Tom Dabernig in this afternoon’s Melbourne feature race, Sovereign Nation absolutely savaged the line for success in the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes (1600m) last weekend but also interestingly had his 2015 Caulfield Guineas odds drift.

Trialling well in the lead-up to his competitive debut, Sovereign Nation more than announced himself from the get-go when comfortably taking out the William Hill Maiden Plate (1000m) on August 28th.

Sound when seventh in the Pin & Win Stakes, the Encosta De Lago colt was barely troubled when taking out the Stutt Stakes by a length last time and could very well receive the run of the race in the 2015 Caulfield Guineas from the rails draw, with regular hoop Michael Walker aboard.

Kentucky Flyer’s Caulfield Guineas odds have also lengthened from a quote of $81 to currently rest at triple figures, while Rageese continues to fluctuate drastically, and will need plenty of luck in transit from barrier 15.

Ladbrokes is currently offering Press Statement as market leader at Caulfield Guineas odds of $2.60 ahead of the Mick Price-trained Ready For Victory.
