A sprinkling of ten scratchings throughout the day hasn’t greatly affected any of the major races with the field for the Group 3 $300,000 PJ’s Irish Pub Parramatta Golden Pendant (1400m) remaining intact with twelve runners.

Top class race mare Catkins remains the short priced favourite at $1.55 for the Golden Pendant with Arabian Gold the only other runner under double figures at $6.50.

The Chris Waller trained Vilanova has come out of the $175,000 It’s Betting Season At TAB Shannon Stakes (1500m) reducing the Group 2 handicap to thirteen runners.

Gai Waterhouse scratched her dual acceptor Valentia from the Group 3 $200,000 Gloaming Stakes (1800m) on Thursday with the Fastnet Rock colt to take his place in the Group 2 $200,000 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) which is scratching free.

Waterhouse has reduced her runners to two in the Listed $100,000 Barcardi Reginald Allen Quality (1400m) after scratching topweight Twirl and Talisa but still has Donelle and Muscovado to represent Tulloch Lodge.

The other scratchings for the day are Lucky Liaison and Nordic Duke in the BenchMark 85 Handicap (1900m) and Pitt Street, Laohu, Longma and Casino Dancer in the BenchMark 84 Handicap over 1350m.

The scratching of Vilanova in the Shannon Stakes had minimal effect on the market order with the Joe Pride trained Rock Sturdy still the clear cut favourite at $3.20 with Ladbrokes.com.au.

Excess Knowledge from the Waterhouse stable is the second pick at $5.50 just ahead of Jetset Lad at $8 and Ninth Legion at $9 and Queenslander Epic at $10.

The market order for the Stan Fox Stakes remains unchanged with the Paul Messara trained Scissor Kick still in the red at $1.90 ahead of Shooting To Win at $3.10 and Valentia at $4.80.

The Reginald Allen Quality has turned into one of the most open betting races on the program with all seven runners under double figures following the scratchings of Twirl and Talisa.

The Jason Coyle trained Slightly Sweet has been marked the favourite at $3.60 with Joadja and Candelara both on $5, Dymanic Rock at $5.50, Donelle at $6, Muscovado at $8 and Abduction at $8.50.

Bookmakers are also having trouble finding a clear favourite in the Group 3 $125,000 Colin Stephen Quality (2400m) with Travolta currently at the head of betting at $4 slightly ahead of Multilateral at $4.40, Deane Martin at $5 and Secessio at $5.50.
