Four-year-old Rocker will need luck on his side if he is to be successful in the Coastal Tipper Hire Handicap at the Gold Coast tomorrow.

Rocker was due to run last week, however a rain affected track lead trainer Kelly Schweida to scratch the Fastnet Rocket entire from the field.

“He was supposed to run last week but the rain came and the track was rated heavy so I scratched and as soon as I did the sun came out and the track came up okay,” Schweida said.

The trainer is hoping that Rocker can add to his bank account balance, which currently stands at just under $40,000.

No-matter what the outcome is tomorrow, the trainer will be sending Rocker straight out for a spell following the race.

“He’s going well and he needs to get some prize money in the bank but whatever happens I am spelling him after Saturday,” Schweida said.

Schweida is unsure whether Rocker will be able to win tomorrow’s race, despite the horse winning three of his five starts to date.

“He has a long way to go and he has to lift a bit,” he said.

“He’s shown a lot of promise but he has to deliver on it.

“He’s had anything but an ideal preparation and we’ve been playing catch up all the way through.

“It’s three and half weeks between runs going into this race and it was four weeks between his previous two runs.”

The pressure will be on Rocker when he takes to the track tomorrow, with the promising sprinter looking to continue his impressive record that has seen him never finish worse than second.

Rocker was purchased for $35,000 from the 2009 Australian Easter Yearling Sale and has since become one of Schweida’s top future stallion prospects.
