Redzel showed is class with an all the way win in the Group 1 $700,000 James Boag’s Premium Doomben 10000 (1200m) at Doomben during the Brisbane Winter Carnival and showed that he has lost none of his dash with stylish barrier trial win at Randwick today.

“He’s up there as one of the best sprinters in the country and would deserve a slot in the race (The Everest),” Peter Snowden said.

“The Everest is a lucrative concept and it would be fantastic to be part of the first running of the race. It’s exciting for the owners as it would be for ourselves if we had a runner in the race.

The Triple Crown Syndicated Redzel showed all his customary early speed out the barriers to lead all of the way to clock 1:01.50 secs for the 1045m trial win over his stablemate Russian Revolution.

Peter Snowden, who trains in partnership with his son Paul, is aiming Redzel to kick off his 2017 Spring Carnival campaign in the Group 2 $200,000 The Shorts (1100m) at Randwick on September 16.

“His trial today was good and it’s brought him right up to the mark for a first start which will most likely be The Shorts here at Randwick,” Peter Snowden said.

Snowden is also considering taking Redzel to Melbourne to run in the Group 1 $500,000 Moir Stakes (1000m) at The Valley on September 29 and is confident he will step up to Group 1 company again.

“He’s proven at Group 1 level and he seems to have come back a stronger, more complete racehorse this preparation.

Redzel is currently listed at $17 for The Everest at Ladbrokes.com.au while the Team Hawkes trained Chautauqua sits at the top of the market order at $4.60 just ahead of Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign.

Russian Revolution is also a proven Group 1 performer with a win in the $700,000 Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill during the 2017 Sydney Autumn Carnival and is also well in commission at $13 for The Everest.
