Tamworth

Tamworth Racecourse is located in the country music town of Tamworth, which itself is situated in northern New South Wales.  The racecourse is home to a total of 29 race meets per year and is operated by the Tamworth Jockey Club (TJC).

Two of Tamworth Racecourse’s biggest races each year are the $150,000 Prime Television 3YO Handicap and the $60,000 The Tooheys Tamworth Gold Cup.

Tamworth Racecourse has a track circumference of 1,830 metres and a final straight that is 360 metres long. Like all other New South Wales tracks, races at Tamworth Racecourse are run in a clockwise direction.

The course also has a total of four chutes, which are located at 1600m, 1400m, 1200m and 1000 metres. In total, the Tamworth Racecourse precinct comprises of five different tracks, including a trotting track, dirt track, cinders track and the two grass tracks.

A total of 130 horses call Tamworth Racecourse their home, utilising the top class training facilities on offer. As well as the quality racing held at the track, Tamworth Racecourse offers unsurpassed facilities fit for events and functions such as weddings, business meetings and conferences.
