Hawkesbury Racecourse is located in New South Wales, just 65 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD. The racecourse was first built on 200 acres of bushland back in 1865 and the first race meeting was held at the track in 1871. Since that date, Hawkesbury Racecourse has been in continuous use and has remained under the operation of the Hawkesbury Race Club.
Hawkesbury Racecourse is home to two race meetings each month, with the meetings generally occurring on Thursdays. The track has a total circumference of 2,070 metres and has a home straight that is 380 metres long. Horses that compete at Hawkesbury Racecourse run in a clockwise direction and all races are conducted on the track’s grass surface.
Hawkesbury Racecourse is not only a venue for horse racing, but also a perfect place for conferences, conventions, meetings or weddings. Hawkesbury Race Club offers a 4 star Motel which possesses 30 luxurious rooms.
