The 2015 Razor Sharp Handicap field has been released and a number of talented sprinters are set to return to the races in the Listed event at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Boss Lane was sent to the spelling paddock after he failed to fire in the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 12, but he started that campaign with a win in the TAB Rewards Handicap (1250m) at Canterbury on July 25 and he took out the Place Multi Handicap (1000m) at Royal Randwick on August 8 before he finished a close second behind Decision Time in the Group 3 Show County Quality (1200m) at the same venue on August 22.

Dances On Stars and Barbed both failed to fire last preparation, but the two horses generally perform well fresh and produce their best form in races at this level.

Barbed has had two barrier trials ahead of his racing return, while Dances On Stars failed to impress when he beat home just a single runner in a barrier trial over 900 metres at Rosehill Gardens on November 24.

Echo Gal beat Barbed in a barrier trial over 1044 metres at Royal Randwick on November 30 and she looks well-placed to make a strong return to racing in the Razor Sharp Handicap this weekend.

The Stratum mare has been an inconsistent performer during her racing career to date, but she showed promising signs when she took out the Tab.com.au Handicap (1200m) at Royal Randwick on August 8 and finished second in both the Group 3 Toy Show Quality (1300m) and Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) during the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival.

One of the only horse that will take winning form into the Razor Sharp Handicap is Aussies Love Sport, who will return to the races for the first time since he took out the Campaign Group Handicap (1200m) at the Sunshine Coast on July 4 under the care of Toby Edmonds.

Aussies Love Sport has now returned to the care of John Sargent and he recorded an impressive 2.5 lengths victory over the likes of Boss Lane and Territory in a barrier trial over 1044 metres at Royal Randwick on November 30.

Veteran gelding Monton, Hall Mark Stakes placegetter Hidden Warrior, Jarrod Austin-trained Territory and the consistent Lunar Rise are also set to return to the races in the 2015 Razor Sharp Handicap.

That’s A Good Idea will carry the top-weight of 59.5 kilograms in the Razor Sharp Handicap and he will be joined in the race by stablemate Dublin Lass, who took out the Starlight Stakes at Rosehill Gardens on November 28.
