The Vinery Stud Stakes winner Hiyaam had to settle with the number ten marble while last year’s Caulfield Guineas winner Mighty Boss will have to jump from the outside of the eleven horse Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes field.

Michael Dee will resume his association with Hiyaam after the pair combined for a win in the Group 1 $500,000 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill and a second in the Group 1 $1m James Boag’s Premium Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick during the 2018 Sydney Autumn Carnival.

Mighty Boss will have a new rider with Michael Dee taking over from the suspended Michael Walker who was sent out after causing interference on Tramway Stakes winner Comin’ Through at Randwick last Saturday.

Walker is out until September 13 and will be free to ride at the Makybe Diva Stakes meeting at Flemington or at the Colgate Optic White Stakes Day at Randwick on September 15.

The James Cummings trained Hartnell will lead the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes field out and will jump from barrier nine with Craig Williams in the saddle again after the pair combined for a first up second to Showtime in the Group 2 $200,000 Sir John Monash P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 18.

Victoria’s leading trainer Darren Weir will saddle up two runners in the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes, Red Cardinal with Harry Coffey in the saddle from barrier four and Night’s Watch from gate five for John Allen.

Group 1 winning New Zealand mare Bonneval has drawn barrier eight with Regan Bayliss booked to ride.
