Sydney filly Pretty Fast has accelerated her chances of winning a $500,000 Summer Crown bonus with her win in the Listed $100,000 Mode Plate (1200m) at Doomben last Saturday.

A $500,000 bonus is on offer if one three-year-old can win three of the five designated races over the Queensland Summer Carnival and Pretty Fast will have to win two of the remaining three races to claim the bonus.

The remaining three races in the series are Listed $100,000 Gold Edition Plate (1200m) at December 17 and the Group 3 $200,000 Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) on December 30, both at Doomben and the $2m Magic Millions 3yo Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast on January 13.

Co-trainer Paul Snowden, who trains in partnership with his father Peter, said that Pretty Fast’s Mode Plate win has given her valuable black type in the stud book and has already boosted her brood mare value substantially.

“She’s a valuable broodmare now she’s won Black-Type and she’s a Magic Millions filly,” Snowden said.

“We think 1200 metres is probably her best distance and there’s a similar race for her in two weeks.

“The Magic Millions Guineas is over 1400 metres so we’ll just wait and see.”

Winning jockey Damian Browne was able to give Pretty Fast the run of the race from barrier four before steering the Not A Single Doubt filly to her fourth win from seven starts and boost her prizemoney earnings to $191,335.

The Greg Hickman trained Pierata is on the same path as Pretty Fast after he beat the colts and geldings in the $100,000 Winning Rupert Plate (1200m) which was also included in the 3yo Summer Crown Bonus series.

Pierata has been installed as the $5 favourite for the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas at Ladbrokes.com.au while Pretty Fast is listed as a $15 chance.
