Press Statement stamped himself as a horse to follow when he started his racing career with two straight wins in Sydney and he beat a quality field to take out the Group 1 J.J. Atkins (1600m) at Doomben on June 6.

The Hinchinbrook colt started his 2015 Spring Racing Carnival campaign with a strong second behind Exosphere in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on August 29, but he never had the chance to show what he is capable of when he finish fifth in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 12.

Waller was extremely disappointed that Press Statement never found clear running in the Golden Rose Stakes, but he told Racing Ahead that he is confident the three-year-old can return to winning form in the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) on Saturday.

“He got no luck, he got off balance and badly interfered with,” Waller said.

“It is a nice race to bounce back to form tomorrow and it would be nice to see him do that.

“If he wins tomorrow he will definitely run in the Guineas.”

Team Hawkes-trained Rageese is also coming out of the Golden Rose Stakes and he is on the second line of Stan Fox Stakes betting markets at a quote of $5.

Rageese failed to fire when he returned to the races in the Listed The Rosebud (1200m) at Royal Randwick on August 8, but he was able to record a maiden race win at Wyong on August 30 before he was far from disgraced when fourth in the Golden Rose Stakes.

The only other horses that is available at single figure Stan Fox Stakes odds is Shards, who has drifted from $7 out to $7.50 in the past 24 hours.

Shards started his spring campaign with a tough win in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m) at Royal Randwick on August 22, but he produced a very poor effort in the Golden Rose Stakes, which led to trainer John O’Shea requesting a swab of the three-year-old.

Man Of His Word ($17) and Fireworks ($21) have both remained steady at their opening Stan Fox Stakes quotes, while Winning Accord has drifted from $31 out to $51.
