Talented sprinter Our Boy Malachi has been included in the 2014 Razor Sharp Handicap field and he is set to receive the run of the race after drawing ideally in barrier three for the Listed event at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

Our Boy Malachi joined the Team Hawkes stable after he recorded 13 wins from 15 race starts in Queensland under the care of John O’Sing and he made his Sydney racing debut with a comfortable win in the Turner Freeman Lawyers Fly Handicap (1100m) at Rosehill before stamping himself as a genuine contender at Group level with a dominant win in the Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens on November 29.
Dothraki finished second behind Our Boy Malachi in the Starlight Stakes and he will have the chance to turn-the-tables on his rival in the Razor Sharp Handicap this weekend.
The son of Mossman was gelded at the end of his winter preparation and trainer Gerald Ryan believes that the four-year-old has returned as a much more consistent horse; with the Gold Coast Guineas winner finishing second in the Men Of League Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on October 25 before winning the Whyte & Gilmour Handicap (1100m).
Dothraki has been joined in the 2014 Razor Sharp Handicap field by stablemate Red Excitement, who will be returning to the races for the first time since he recorded his third straight victory in the Eatability Handicap (1600m) at Royal Randwick on February 8.
One of the most interesting horses that has been included in the Razor Sharp Handicap acceptances is injury-plagued Howmuchdoyouloveme and he will be having his first race start since he was injured during the running of the Group 3 Healy Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on June 21.
Trainer Con Karakatsanis has nursed Howmuchdoyouloveme back to full health and the Written Tycoon gelding showed that he was ready for a return to racing by winning barrier trials at Rosehill Gardens on November 25 and Warwick Farm on December 8.
Team Snowden-trained That’s A Good Idea is set to return to Sydney racing in the Razor Sharp Handicap after he finished a slightly disappointing seventh behind the undefeated Deep Field in the Group 2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 1.
That’s A Good Idea is still chasing a maiden win at black type level after he finished third in the Group 3 McCarten Stakes (1100m) earlier this year and second in the Listed City Tatts Club Lightning (1100m) at Royal Randwick on October 18.
The 2014 Razor Sharp Handicap field is rounded out by Cradle Me (barrier seven), Testarhythm (barrier two) and Fare Well (barrier eight).
