Abidewithme made her Australian racing debut with a fast-finishing victory in the Cape Grim Beef Plate (1400m) at Caulfield on August 29 and she went on to run well without a great deal of luck in both the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 26 and the Group 1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at the same venue on October 10.

Moody told Racing Ahead that he was happy with Abidewithme’s performances in both the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and the Toorak Handicap and he is confident that she will perform at her peak in the 2015 Myer Classic.

“She has drawn two horror gates at her last two starts and she has been quite good in each of her runs,” Moody said.

“We have gone from one extremity to the other with the inside gate, but she has really thrived this mare and she has done a treat.

“This has been her target for a good while now and she goes there in as good a shape as she can.

“It comes down to whether she is good enough and I am hopeful that she can.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with her.”

Abidewithme drew towards the outside of the field in both the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and the Toorak Handicap, but she is set to jump from barrier one in the Myer Classic with jockey Damien Oliver in the saddle.

Moody said that he will leave the tactics up to Oliver, but he believes that Abidewithme will settle much closer to the speed in the Myer Classic than she has done in each of three race starts during the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival to date.

“I would think just naturally from the gate that she will hold a more prominent position.

“I don’t think she will be on the leaders heels, but I would like to think that she will hold a midfield position.

“I will leave it to Damien and she will travel where she is comfortable.”

Abidewithme is currently available at 2015 Myer Classic odds of $11 with Ladbrokes and he is on the fourth line of betting Stay With Me ($4.50), Royal Descent ($4.80) and Azkadellia ($8.50).
