Saturday’s Might And Power 2024 field looks a potential one-horse race if the markets are to go by as the talented Mr Brightside looks to salute as the odds-on favourite at Caulfield on Guineas Day.

The Team Hayes-trained seven-year-old is the clear frontrunner in betting at Ladbrokes on this year’s Group 1 $1 million Might And Power (2000m).

He comes into the small eight-horse field in peak order looking to return to winning form after a second when 1.5 lengths off Pride Of Jenni at The Valley in the Group 2 Feehan last time out.

Prior to that he was dominant running down the same star mare and regular rival in the wet at Flemington to claim his second Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes success.

He is drawn the coveted inside barrier in the Might And Power with Craig Williams to ride the deserving and hard to beat favourite.

The Chris Waller-trained two-time Group 1 winning mare, Atishu, is tipped the most likely to score at upset paying around $4 in the current Might And Power odds online at Ladbrokes.

She is out to atone for her sixth-place finish in the Turnbull last Saturday and will relish the quick back-up with super hoop James McDonald aboard.

The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained Deny Knowledge is the early Might And Power market mover seeing some support in from $10 to $7.50.

For punters seeking value, the nicely bred The Autumn Sun mare Coco Sun is at $12 to break her Caulfield hoodoo.

The SA Derby winner from the autumn in Adelaide defeated a potential Spring Cups contender, Warmonger, with ease over 2500m as a filly before some credible runs this time in with improvement pending up in trip now.

The Might And Power field is completed by the Ciaron Maher-trained mare Jennilala, Danny O’Brien’s veteran 2019 Melbourne Cup winner Vow And Declare, and Kris Lees‘ pair of Kalapour and Adelaide River.
