Trainer Daniel Clarken is delighted with the condition of speedy filly Miracles Of Life ahead of the Group 3 Champagne Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
Miracles Of Life had her unbeaten run ended when she resumed with a fourth place finish in the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 31 but Clarken told TVN that the daughter of Not A Single Doubt had come out of the first-up run well and was ready to return to the winners circle this weekend.
“She has come through the first-up really well,” Clarken said.
“In fact, she’s sensational, absolutely sensational.
“The month between the runs has been ideal and I can tell you she will acquit herself very, very well on Friday night.”
Miracles Of Life will need to be at her best to record her fifth career victory on Friday night with a number of quality fillies included in the Champagne Stakes nominations that were released yesterday.
Rudd Awakening is set to have her second run this preparation after she returned to Australia with a fifth place finish behind Miracle To Me in the Domain Plate (1100m) at Flemington on September 7.
The Bernardini filly impressed as a juvenile in New Zealand, winning five of her six starts including the Group 1 Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Ellerslie, and was brought to Australia for the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) but beat home just a single runner after drawing the outside barrier.
Darley filly Metastasio was also competitive at Group 1 level as a two-year-old, finishing eighth behind Miracles Of Life in the Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m), and looks to have improved significantly this preparation.
The Street Cry filly started her 2013 Spring Racing Carnival campaign with a second place finish behind Thousand Guineas Prelude winner Gregers in the Aquanas Foods Handicap (1000m) before finishing an unlucky second in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) and fourth in the Domain Plate.
Metastasio is still a chance to contest the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) but will not be joined in the field by Miracles Of Life, with Clarken indicating that the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) was now the major target for the filly.
