Kerrin McEvoy has been involved in a track work accident when he fell from a horse at the end of a gallop, however he has escaped without any serious injury.
The jockey is confident that he will be fine to take his place at the Rosehill meet on Saturday but is undergoing precautionary x-rays.
“We were going past the post after a gallop and it whipped in, ran in, and I came off the side of it,” McEvoy said.
“It skittled me and kicked me on the way through.
“I’m pretty sore in the ribs so I’m going to get a precautionary x-ray, but I don’t think I’ve broken them because I can breathe ok.
“It’s just sore when I move around.”
His had five rides scheduled for today but he has had to relinquish them after the fall.
Replacing McEvoy are the following riders:
Race 1 – 2 MERGE – Nash Rawiller
Race 2 – 6 I’M MARY TOO – Kathy O‘Hara
Race 3 – 7 JAVASEA – TBA.
Race 5 – 3 QUIDNUNC – Josh Parr
