Le Chef stamped himself as a horse to watch when he took out the Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 10, but his 2015 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival campaign came to a premature end when he suffered an injury during the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) at Doomben on May 9.

The Exceed And Excel gelding failed to beat home a single runner when he returned to the races in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on October 3 and he tired late when fifth behind Dram Of Red in the Mittys Handicap (1110m) at Doomben on November 28.

Dram Of Red has also been included in the Gold Edition Plate and he has the opportunity to record his fourth race win in what will be just his sixth race start.

The Red Element gelding was very poor first-up in the Bronx Nation Handicap (1050m) at Doomben on November 14, but he produced a much improved performance to take out the Mittys Handicap.

Another horse that is set to take winning form into the Gold Edition Plate is Tony Gollan-trained Secret Saga, who has recorded three wins from his past four starts.

Secret Saga took out the Best Security Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on September 26 and he was outclassed in the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on October 17 before he returned to winning form with impressive victories in the Bronx Nation Handicap and the Listed Mode Plate (1200m) at Doomben on November 28.

The other horse chasing their third straight victory in the Gold Edition Plate is Chris Munce-trained Stick With Me, but she faces the toughest challenge of her career to date in the Listed event.

Stick With Me scored her maiden race win for Munce in the Haymans Electrical Handicap (1000m) at Caloundra on November 1 and she took out the M&S Reynolds Kitchens Plate (1000m) at the same venue on November 20.

Most Important, In His Stride, Privlaka, Show Command, Pepperano, Madotti, Typing, La Dolce Vita, My Girl Hayley, Sold For Song, Military Miss, Seq The Star and Star Justice round out the 2015 Gold Edition Plate field.
