Second emergency Lope De Capio has gained a start in the Group 1 $1m Darley Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday following the scratching of the Richard Jolly trained Karlovasi.
Lope De Capio is rated a $101 chance for the Goodwood at Ladbrokes.com.au and will jump from one from the outside barrier in the twenty horse field.
Jamie Kah has been booked to ride the Wayne Francis and Glen Kent trained four year old gelding who is coming off a last fifth in a 1200m BenchMark 90 Handicap at Morphettville on May 13.
Morphettville trainer Richard Jolly will still have a runner in The Goodwood with Karacatis who looks likely to jump from barrier sixteen with Noel Callow in the saddle.
Callow will be having his second ride on Karacatis after the pair combined for a last start win in the Group 3 $175,000 D C McKay Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville on May 6.
Karacatis is also listed as one of the outsiders in The Goodwood field at $61.
Karlovasi is also in the final field for the Listed $120,00 Straight Six (1200m) at Flemington with Jake Toeroek booked to ride.
Darren Weir’s multiple Group 1 winner Black Heart Bart continues to hold the favoured position at the top of the Goodwood market order at $3.50 well ahead of his nearest rival Vega Magic at $6.50.
The Robert Sangster Stakes winner Secret Agenda is solid in the betting at $7.50 just ahead of the Peter Gelagotis trained Malaguerra at $8 while Weir will also saddle up Rageese who is listed as a $26 chance.
