I’ve Got The Looks is currently available at 2015 Ramornie Handicap odds of $3.80 and is a clear favourite to take out the Listed event at Grafton tomorrow afternoon.
I’ve Got The Looks started her winter campaign with a very comfortable victory in the Listed Silk Stocking (1200m) at the Gold Coast on April 25 and she produced another strong effort to win the Listed Juanmo Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on May 9 before she failed to fire when eighth behind Peace Force in the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on May 23.
Jockey Blake Shinn informed stewards after the race that he felt I’ve Got The Looks failed to run out a strong 1350 metres and punters are confident the she can return to winning form when she drops back to 1200 metres in the Ramornie Handicap.
Thump has been an inconsistent performer during her autumn and winter campaign, but she is currently on the second line of Ramornie Handicap betting markets at a quote of $7.
The Red Ransom mare returned to racing after failed stint in the breeding barn with a surprise win in the Group 3 Triscay Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on February 14, but she was unable to replicate that form in the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Warwick Farm on February 28 and the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 14.
Thump returned to a semblance of her best form with a close fourth in the Listed Hinkler Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on June 6, but will likely need to improve to win the Ramornie Handicap.
The only other runner available at single figure Ramornie Handicap odds is Godolphin sprinter Barbed, who returned to racing with a disappointing performance in the Listed June Stakes (1100m) at Royal Randwick on June 6.
While I’ve Got The Looks is on top of 2015 Ramornie Handicap betting markets, the clear market mover with Ladbrokes has been Darryl Hansen-trained Le Cap, who has been backed from $18 into $13 since the Ramornie Handicap final field was released.
Le Cap failed to fire in both the Listed Weetwood Handicap (1200m) at Toowoomba on May 2 and the Listed Ascot Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on May 23, but he returned to winning form with victories in the Stripe Pro Signs Handicap (1200m) at the Sunshine Coast on June 8 and the XXXX Gold Newmarket Handicap (1300m) at Rockhampton on June 18.
There has been a sprinkling of support for Nothing Like Luca ($51 into $26) and Bound For Earth ($15 into $13), while Malavio ($21 out to $26), Fare Well ($15 out to $17), Rock Royalty ($15 out to $17) and Single Chance ($31 out to $34) have all been on the drift.
